The church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, adjacent to Elvetham Hall, was built in 1840-41 on the site of an earlier church. Declared redundant in 1972, the building is now part of "The Elvetham" hotel and conference centre.

Monument No 1 is a large war memorial, situated to the south east of the church.
Nos 2, 3, 4, 5 at the west end of the churchyard comprise the Calthorpe family plot and vault.
No 6 is at the east wall of the church.
No 7 is a flat stone adjacent to the tower.
No 8 is a flat stone near the south wall of the churchyard.
No 9 has been taken up and leaned against the chancel wall.

The remainder of the stones have been moved from their original positions and placed against the perimeter wall of the churchyard; they have been recorded in a clockwise direction, starting at west.
