The British Sugarcraft Guild was inaugurated officially on 17th March 1981 by a number of enthusiastic cake decorators united by their love for sugarcraft. With a swan and its reflection as a logo, its motto "My Craft is my Art" and a newsletter for members, the Guild came into being with the objectives of promoting interest in sugarcraft, sharing knowledge, developing talent and improving standards. Membership now numbers over 7,000.
This is just one of many regional branches of the British Sugarcraft Guild , The branch, which has been running for almost 20 years, recently won the Gold Award at the Region 2 Exhibition in 2007 (more pictures).
At the meetings you can socialise over a cup of coffee and watch some superb demonstrations, details of which you can find in the programme. Every now and then, there are workshops where everyone can have a go and take home something they have made.
