A message from
Jill Cannon Church Steward May 2008
Dear Friends,
As Sue is taking her Sabbatical leave I have chosen a poem for this edition
of the “Newsletter”. The poem reminds us of the good things we have and the
many who have not.
Remember God’s Love and His Grace
As the sun shines on your face,
As you relax in sun and park
Think of those who are in the dark.
Your life has many silken threads,
You all have homes and all have beds,
Remember them with a roof of stars,
Think of those with many scars.
Remember those in pain and grief
And ask their suffering may be brief,
As you enjoy your bread and meat,
Think on them with nought to eat.
You all have plenty, pass the pie,
Remember them whose children die,
You all have clothes, shoes on feet,
Think of them who aren’t so neat.
Remember those who live in fear,
That they may feel His presence near,
As you walk along the street,
Smile at the lonely you may meet.
You all have water, fresh and clear,
Think of the lands where water’s dear,
It costs so much to take it there,
Can you help others get their share?
Remember the ill, the poor and old,
Those who suffer in the cold,
Ask the Lord to keep us from it, then open up your gold-lined wallet.
