2003 OK not strictly an award, but how many people can you name who have received a Christmas Card from the
President of The United States of America one George W. Bush!

2003 and the group follows up its success in Germany with an invitation by the Commanding General, Gen. B. B. Bell, to
return, this time portraying service men and women from the period 1936-1944. Again the display was warmly
appreciated, and once again the group had the honor of teaching American serviceman and women their own history!
This time members attending were each awarded the Commanding Generals' Four Star Coin for Excellence.

In 2002 the Doughboys made a further excursion into Europe, this time in support of the
United States Army Europe & U.S. Seventh Army Land Combat Expo. The groups presentation
was recognised by the presentation of a Scroll of Appreciation to each member attending, signed
by Col. Frederic Batchelor, Secretary of the General Staff. The citation reads in part "For exceptionally
meritorious achievement while supporting the....Land Combat Expo."

In 2001 each member of the group was presented with The Oregon State Medal for WW1 Service on
behalf of the Oregon Military Museum by Major Stephen C. Mcgeorge USA (Ret).
The citation reads "in recognition of Pershings' Doughboys efforts to memorialise America's fallen Soldier,
and in particular men of the National Guard,..."

In 1999 the group won Best Living History Group awarded by Military Illustrated Magazine's.

In 1998 at the invitation of the Belgian Royal Family the Doughboys attended Europe's largest
gathering of WW1 soldiers, equipment and motor transport, the event held in Brussels' Central Park
and hosted by Royal Museum of The Army and Military History. The group was presented with a silver plate
by the General Staff of the Belgian Army (the ITC) in recognition of the living history encampment and
first person interaction with the visitors.
