Pershings' Doughboys - Founding Sponsors
of the
The National U.S. Army Museum
Fort Belvoir, Virginia

Supporting the U.S. Army Historical Foundation's assertion that museums are "the most trusted and credable institutions for public enjoyment and information" Pershings' Doughboys are proud to be Founding Sponsors of the National Army Museum, scehduled to open in 2011 at a purpose built facility on Fort Belvoir, Virginia.

The museum will present the evolution of the U.S. Army and how it "is intricately interwoven through all aspects of the American Experience"

The chairman of Pershings' Doughboys recently visited Mr. Mr Stephen McGeorge, MuseumCurator & Collections Manager for the new museum. Mr. McGeorge is a key member of the team responsible for the development of the exhibits. Mr. McGeorge was previously employed as the curator of the Oregon National Guard museum, and is a key enthusiast in the preservation of US Army history, especially from The Great War and AEF era. Pershings' Doughboys have visited mr. McGeorge many times over the past years, and have built up a very good relationship, while researching all aspects of US Army uniform and equipment history from both WW1 and WW2 period.

The chairman is picture with Mr. McGeorge, presenting a copy of the Columbus Raid commemorative painting as a token of good will and good luck to Mr. McGeorge as the National Museum comes together.

Please lend your support to the museum, further information about which can be obtained by visiting the web-site of the Army Historical Foundation www.armyhistory.org
