Nearly three years since the release of Raise the Pressure, Bernard and Johnny certainly come up with the goods again, like the stunning debut album Electronic. The album was co-produced by Arthur Baker, who worked on New Order's Confusion and Thieves like us and the album is far more rawer sounding than certainly the last:

Bernard: "It's rockier than the previous ones. It's more of a group based sound."
Johnny: "It's still more melodic but more guitary."
Bernard: "In the past the tracks have mainly been written using a computer and keyboard with the guitars added at the end. On this album we reversed the process by writing the songs on guitar first. A by product of that, is that this album took 3 months to record and the previous one took 2 years."

Twisted Tenderness has received very favourable reviews:

Q Magazine
NME

Although good reviews and what I consider a brilliant album, Twisted Tenderness hasn't had amazing sales, and the second single Late at night was been put back several times and it was eventually shelved in the UK. Some people wanted the title track released as a single, it seems a safer option, the most sounding New Order track on the album, I don't really agree, this album has an excellent new sound.

Perhaps a more eye catching cover and, dare I say it, a sticker saying which ground breaking bands these two musicians come from would help. I don't think Marr and Sumner would like it, but Electronic is still unknown to many people.
