Accountant, Sailor.3 Francis Reginald Emson was born in 1882; his birth was registered during the third quarter within Romford RD, Essex.1,2 He was the son of Reginald Embleton Emson and Louisa Elizabeth Kidd.1 He married Catherine Dorothy Bune, daughter of John Bune, on 10 February 1909 at All Saints' Church, West Dulwich, London.4,5 He was presumed drowned on 3 February 1915 when HMS "Clan Macnaughton", an auxiliary merchant cruiser (i.e. a converted merchant ship) on which he was serving, sank mysteriously off the northwest coast of Ireland.6 He has no known grave, his name being commemorated on panel 13 of the Naval Memorial, Kings Bastion, Chatham, Kent.
