District News

Annual Divine Service

Our Annual Divine Service was  held under the auspices of the Preceptory at Paisley Abbey in Kilbarchan West Parish Church on Sunday 18 May. There was a reasonble turnout of Members, who were accompanied by their families. The Great Priory of Scotland was very well represented by our M.E & Rev. Grand Master Roy Scott, and the Grand Officers of Great Priory. The Service was conducted by the Rev.Arthur Sherrit, who also gave the Sermon. The first reading was read by our District Grand Prior Rt. Em. Fra. James Main, PP. The second lesson was read by the Ven Preceptor of Paisley Abbey, Em. Fra. Peter Anton, HDGH. After the Service everyone enjoyed tea and refreshments in the Church Hall. Our District Grand Prior proposed a very warm vote of thanks to Great Priory, and the sister Districts & their District Grand Priors who attended also the host Preceptory Paisley Abbey and in particular Peter Anton, Ven Preceptor.  Rev.Arthur Sherrit, Tom Ferguson Church Organist, Alistair McKinnon Church Officer, and the Kirk Session & Members of Kilbarchan West Parish Church for the use of their lovely Church and facilities. Our District Grand Prior also warmly thanked the ladies of the Order of the Eastern Star, Glentyan Chapter No.422 for the lovely tea they provided and served to all. The attendance sheets showed that fifteen of the Preceptories in our District were represented.       

Congratulations

Congratulations are accorded to Ven. Fra. Malcolm Turner, PP Secretary, of Paisley Abbey who has been installed as the Provincial Grand Superintendent, of the Provincial Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Renfrewshire. Malcolm's predecessor was Em. Fra. John McKee, PP HGP District Grand Seneschal.
