Could all club secretaries please supply Dennis Breen with the team names wishing to enter this tournament. He hopes to have the draw for the first round completed by November 12 th.


The 4th Renaissance Academy Rapidplay Tournament is scheduled to take place on Sunday the 11th of November at the Bradford Latvian Welfare fund, 5 Clifton Villas, Bradford, BD8 7BY. This event is a Fund Raiser for Children in Need. An entry form can be downloaded here

Some league results continue to arrive on the electronic scorecards.

The new Electronic Scorecard can be used. I must stress if you use this instead of posting a matchcard then you need to send it to Dennis the Secretary as well as the Press Officer, Grading Officer and Website Editor. To make things easier I have set up a group e-mail. Full instructions here.

DCA news

Charles Wood has been busy creating a chess academy for Bradford chess. He has met with youth leaders and schools to tell them of a novel five week training programme to establish players who are good enough to start playing in the league. The rest will go back to school.

The Academy will take place every Monday from 7.00pm until 8.00pm with a guest coaches.

Anybody involved in a young adult organisation ages 12 - 25 should contact Charles for details.

He has even spruced up the chess room at the Latvian Club and wishes to thank the following for making it happen.
