The Open Dinghy Club

Angmering-on-Sea

Founded back in 1972 after participants at a sailing course begged to be able to sail some more, the ODC is a dinghy sailing club for those who enjoy their sailing. We pride ourselves on a friendly family atmosphere - kids? we love 'em! - and although we do organise a busy racing schedule, the most important thing for all of us is just to have fun.

We've hoisted our flag on the edge of the village of East Preston, on the West Sussex coast, (where?) our compound opening straight onto the beach - which can get a bit breezy at times...! From the water views stretch from the Seven Sisters to the Isle of Wight, on a clear day, and off the water facilities include a cosy clubhouse for that essential post-sail brew-up, mechanical winch (to save your back the next day), boat-hose and even toilets...

Behind the boat compound we've got our own caravan site, with car-parking space, plus a handy refreshments kiosk, where Robin is more than happy to feed any hungry souls basking in the sun. For those who like a pint, The (excellent) Seaview pub is within two shakes of a lamb's tail, but for the most part, sailing's our game...

...catch us between here and France!
