welcome to the home page of
Courtman of Essex

This site is dedicated to all the Courtman Descendants, and others, who have worked long and hard over many years. The information they have provided has also enabled me to produce my Family Tree Site, in memory of all Courtman`s who walked the earth of this great land. Between them we have managed to take our Family History back Thirteen Generations, to the early 16th Century in Essex. There are other tree's running parallel with our branch, and as yet, not connected. We hope one day, to be able to produce a complete tree of all Courtman Descendants from as early a point as possible. However, i do suspect that we shall be able to go no further back in time, as this really is as far back as anyone can reasonably expect to go, unless you have Royal Blood.!

I would also like to dedicate this site to my late Mother, Doris Amy Courtman,... an Essex girl, and proud of it.!

This site is still being constructed and a few links to date, there will be links to each person shown with text, and more information on the photo and the people in them. I have also included my Family Tree of Descendants from Jonas Courtman, mostly researched by other Courtman researchers since the 1980s. To them i am profoundly grateful for all the hard work that has been done over all these years. Because of this we have been able to stretch the name across the Atlantic to the USA and Canada, down to South Africa, and across the world to Australia and New Zealand.

Our Family Tree is also submitted to the Family Tree Maker site:
http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/f/r/a/James-Fraser/
I suggest that you use the online help page to assist in navigation, and to view the part of the tree that interests you.
There are also names and a tree for my wife Ann Hourigan, born County Clare, Ireland. and other names researched.

Please email me if you would like to know more about the names you see in either the FTM site, or this Family site. come back in a while to see how i am getting on with my first attempt. Any constructive comments, or advise would always be appreciated.
