We aim to respond to God’s love, enjoying it together in worship and mutual care, and sharing it with everyone.

Who we are

We are a community of people drawn together by the love of God in Jesus Christ. Together we seek to offer our lives to God in worship and in service. We try to share with one another the love that we receive from God, and we try to share God’s love with all who are our “neighbours” We are part of the Church of England in the diocese of Carlisle this means that we are part of the Anglican Communion (including for example the Episcopal Church of the United Sates of America and the Episcopal Church of Scotland). We are also part of Churches Together in Windermere (under the umbrella of Churches Together in England) and we work closely with other churches in Windermere and district.

The church has two full time ordained ministers: the Rector - James Richards; and the Assistant Curate - David Franklin, and two Readers (lay minister - not ordained) Bill Johnson and Ian Thompson. We also have one person in training for ordained ministry.

Other lay leaders in the church are our four churchwardens (Bev Armer, Linden Davies, Diana Dodd and Roger Parker-Oxpring) our treasurer, Mike Baldwin, and our Homegroup leaders.

The church is led by the Church Council (PCC) with the Rector and the Churchwardens elected by the congregation, but the ministry (=work of the church) is shared by all of us together.
