Statement of Faith

Exmouth Chapel is a friendly Evangelical Church. We welcome people from all ages and backgrounds and our worship combines a mixture of the traditional and more modern styles.

(The following is a minimum, rather than a maximum, statement of what we believe)

The Bible is the inspired word of God. It is our infallible guide and supreme authority on all matters of belief and practice.

There is one God, the creator of heaven and earth, existing in three Persons - the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ is the Son of God, was born of a virgin, led a sinless life, died on the Cross as a sacrifice for sinners, was raised from the dead, ascended into Heaven, and is coming again.

God the Holy Spirit dwells within those who trust Christ.

All mankind has sinned, and salvation is obtained only through repentance and faith in Christ.

We practise believers’ baptism by immersion, and the breaking of bread, as found in Scripture.

Anyone is welcome to join us for our services which are held at 10 am and 6.30pm on Sundays.

(For part of the morning service the children and young people have their own programme of teaching and the evening service takes the form of a Communion service.)

To become a member of Exmouth Chapel we ask that people are willing to sign the Statement of Faith and are committed to the Chapel.
