On this page I suggest you let the music play on for a while because it takes a couple of seconds to get started. It is the theme tune from The Circle of Life which is very appropriate for new life being born. The most recent addition to the Nursery is a litter of 6 kittens. 4 chocolate point siamese and 2 havanas born 25 November 2001 Watch this space for pictures.

All of my kittens are bred indoors. When mum's time is near, the kitten box is kept by my bedside so that mum can wake me at a moment's notice so that I can help her with the delivery. Each mother is different, some just want me there to "observe" and others feel that I should be giving birth and want nothing to do with their new arrivals until I have severed the cords, taken off the sac, dried the kittens and put clean bedding in her box, and only then will mum settle down to the task of feeding them. When my kittens have been litter-trained (usually within a day or two of starting on solids) then they are allowed out of the kitten room to have the run of the house. From the beginning of each kitten's life it is handled every day by my daughter and me. All of my kittens are raised as part of my family and are extremely loved by me. I like to keep in touch with all of my owners and have over the years forged true and longlasting friendships.
