Monday Morning Sickness
Begins a fresh new week,
Early into work we sneak,
There's items outstanding
From the lack of weekend handling,
And people phone in sick.
Why do people phone in sick?
It makes me wonder why they stick
In a job that makes them phone in sick.
Their colleagues will suffer,
Because they say they feel rougher,
While up the pieces others will pick,
Because someone phoned in sick.
There seems to be a pattern,
Some sort of unsaid trend,
Of when all morals are flattened,
Meaning failure to attend.
This pattern is called Monday,
Monday Morning Sickness, per se.
Comes right after Sunday,
And affects its victims in every way.
Why do people phone in sick?
There's a disease for which there is no fix,
After Sunday it exists,
And on this day there's a lack of fitness,
It's called Monday Morning Sickness.
