Wildlife garden design and consultancy

Does your garden need an injection of enthusiasm, a few ideas or a complete rethink? The Wildlife Garden Consultancy Service I run is designed to do just this. The service focuses on adapting your garden for wildlife, rather than making radical or expensive changes. Existing features such as trees, hedging or ponds can be incorporated, and changes such as nectar borders, meadows or native hedgerows may be suggested where appropriate. I can visit your garden if you live within a 40 mile radius of Oxford.  For gardens further afield, it is possible to give help and advice using photos and garden plans.  Contact me for more information.

The written report includes ideas for changes in your garden, photographs taken during the visit and lists of plants suitable for your particular needs. All suggestions are made in careful consultation with the client and take into account your interests and needs. If you are interested in this service, please get in touch by e mail or telephone.

The consultancy can be adapted to your needs and could be single visit to your garden to discuss changes, or could include a written report, month by month maintenance guidelines or a watercolour plan if these were required.

Lectures

Between October and April, I give a range of talks to horticultural societies, natural history groups and Women’s Institutes.

My current talk list includes a selection of general wildlife gardening topics as well as more specific talks such as making your garden attractive to birds or butterflies. I also give talks on wildflower gardening and plant folklore. In general my talks are in the Oxfordshire area but I sometimes travel further afield.
