One Day Courses 2002 Unfortunately, the planned one day courses at Webbs Barn will not run in 2002. A large number of houses are now to be built nearby during the summer, which will create a great deal of noise and disruption. We try to ensure that your day here is as pleasant and enjoyable as possible and fear that this year the local building work would spoil what is usually a relaxing but informative day out for all participants. If you would like to be placed on the mailing list to receive information about next year's courses please email me on : jenny@wildlife-gardening.co.uk or telephone on 01865 821660 STOP PRESS!! I will be teaching a one day course on June 29th in Guilsborough, Northants, with all profits going to Helen House, Oxford. Please ring or email for more information. If you would like to attend a residential course, please click here for more information Below is general information about the one day courses which we hope will run as usual in 2003 |

Are you interested in finding out more about wildlife gardening? The 2 acre garden at Webb’s Barn Cottage, Kingston Bagpuize, is used for a series of one day courses on Wildlife Gardening. Webb’s Barn Cottage has two demonstration wildlife gardens, an organic vegetable garden, an orchard of plums and old apple varieties, wildflower meadows and several wildlife ponds as well as cottage gardens. We are conveniently located 7 miles south west of Oxford. The one day courses are based in our log cabin in the middle of the Big Meadow. The morning begins with coffee and introductions to fellow participants, before a tour of the 2 acre garden. The morning session covers general wildlife gardening principles and shows you ways in which you can adapt your existing garden for wildlife enhancement. |

After lunch we explore other topics in depth, depending upon your particular interests. We may look at making a wildflower meadow, encouraging butterflies to breed in your garden, making nest boxes or creating wildlife ponds. A session growing your own wildflowers from seed is usually included. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, with each participant having personal attention where appropriate. The garden and its wildlife is there for you to explore. What's included - All refreshments are included. Lunch, suitable for vegetarians, with a glass of wine or fruit juice is provided, in the garden if the weather permits. Tea and coffee will also be available. There is parking for 10 cars. The day ends with tea and home made cake, and there will be a selection of information leaflets and catalogues, packets of wildflower seeds, lists of useful suppliers, and my Gardening for Wildlife booklet to take home.About Your Tutor - Before running my own plant nursery for 7 years.
