North-West Composers' Association

Jeremy Pike is Chairman of the North-West Composers' Association. This is an organization which represents composers who live and work in the North West of England, with members living in a wide area covering Cheshire, North Wales, Lancashire, Cumbria, Merseyside and Greater Manchester.
It was founded in 1994, initially to celebrate the 50th Anniversary Jubilee of the Composers' Guild of Great Britain. Full membership is now open to those who belong to the new British Academy of Composers and Songwriters, to which the NWCA is affiliated. Others may join as associate members.
Since it was founded it has organized an annual season of chamber concerts featuring music by its members. It has undertaken recording projects resulting in the production of commercially available CDs, and staged educational workshops in the region. In 1998 two concerts featuring music by NWCA members were held as part of the International Society of Contemporary Music World Music Days Festival in Manchester.
The aim of the NWCA is to raise the profile of new music in the region. Further information may be obtained by visiting the NWCA website. Forthcoming concerts are listed on the Cadenza website.
The NWCA is a registered charity.
