Bars and Restaurants
The following are a few  places i have visited myself. There are too many bars and restaurants in and around Sidari to visit while on a two week holiday, so if you have your favourite, send me an e-mail and i'll give it a mention.
turn your speakers on!

The Planet Bar is located on the main road through Melitsa. You can buy the coldest beer in Corfu at The Planet. Stefan, the barman, keeps the glasses in the freezer so that when a beer is poured into them a disc of ice floats to the top of the glass. Perfect for those hot summer days.
There is also a swimming pool with a diving board where you can practise your dives or relax on the sun loungers round the pool.
There is a large screen T.V which usually caters for the sportsfans, football, motor racing etc.
A pool table near the entrance usually keeps the kids busy.
Music is played all day and if you would like a particular type played, you only have to ask and i'm sure Stefan will oblige.
Snacks are available during the day and early evening.
The owners, Martha and Christos will always have time for a chat even though Christos doesn't speak english. We talked in sign language with a little help with translation from Stefan. I think we laughed more than we talked. Good company is what makes a holiday much more enjoyable.

The Station is located on the main road through Melitsa. This is a family run taverna and an  ideal place for families with small children, there is a small park with swings, a play area and kiddie rides outside. Inside you can have a snack and a drink while catching up on your e-mail or surfing the net, there's also a games console to keep older kids amused. The taverna is owned by two very nice people, Costas and Emily, they are helped by their two daughters, Angelica and Georgia.
I have seen a few locals sitting here on a warm evening enjoying a drink and a chat, i'd say that is an unspoken recommendation.
                                                                     hello georgia!

Nicholas Restaurant is next door to The Planet in Melitsa. The service was the quickest we had in corfu. I ordered beef stew and expected a bowl of stew like the ones i would get back home. What i actually got was huge chunks of beef cooked in a delicious sauce. I was more than pleased with it.
After your meal you can relax at one of the tables outside and enjoy a drink.
A couple we met holiday ate there almost every night.
p.s Iv'e just found out the beef stew is actually Stifado!

The Saxaphone Bar can be found almost accross the road from Nicholas restaurant on the main road in Melitsa. There is a live D.J every night and karaoke two or three times a week. Free shots are given away every hour or so and although they taste sweet they do have a kick.
A large snooker table is available, or if you prefer, there is also a pool table.
The staff are great and more than once i stayed late chatting with them, although the next morning i couldn't remember what we chatted about. As of this year the sax bar has been revamped with comfortable seats and a play area for the kids.

Sea Breeze Restaurant is at the western end of the main street in Sidari.
We had a ninety minute wait for our meal and the steak i ordered was not the best i've had.
The greek dancing was excellent and the staff are probably the best dressed in corfu.
A lot of people enjoy it here as the place was packed almost every night.

The Olympic Restaurant can also be found on the main road in Sidari. Not the quickest service but the meals are well worth the wait. This was one of my favourite places for steak.
A nightly show of greek dancing makes the visit worthwhile.
The back of the restaurant overlooks the beach where you can walk off your meal before hitting the town.

The Three  pigs restaurant on the corner as you turn for Melitsa is a good place to eat and very popular. The waiters do a dance every night at around 9.00 and the food is second to none.
A party of sixteen of us ate there one night and not one complained about the food, even the kids enjoyed it.

Bolero, is the type of bar everyone can enjoy. If you like karaoke then you can find a varied selection of music and sing 'till your hearts content. Food is also available. Because of the ultra violet lights,(you know, the ones that make white clothes dazzling white), mosquitoes are rare, which makes this the perfect place for those of us with tasty blood.

Mythos Restaurant, a recommendation from Tref. He said, "this was the best steak i've had in corfu and cheap too". You can find Mythos past the turn off for Melitsa 50 metres on the left.

Mimosa, qiuck service and good food make the mimosa a great place to eat. The waiters are very friendly and easy to chat with. A lot of tourists make this a regular venue for dinner and as it's also a hotel, most of the guests don't eat anywhere else.

simposio, recommended by Mick and Sue
Why havn't you put the best
restuarant in Sidari on the map that you have posted on the website. I can
only presume that you have not tasted the culinary delights of 'Simposio'.
It is situated as you look at the map just left of 'Aklion' on the same
side. I must say being an 'ex chef' some years ago now it has to be the best
place my family have eaten at on a holiday before. Excellent food and a very
good host, the waiter is the chefs son and apparently the father cooks all
the food himself which includes some superb home made local specials. Just
an idea, you and your wife might like to join us one evening to sample the
menu.

Mick & Sue (and the boys)!.

Hucci Kucci bar has just opened about 30 metres past the saxophone bar on the opposite side. The owners are relations of our good friends Costas and Emily. Unfortunately we didn't get to visit as we stayed on the opposite side of town. If we go back in september this bar will be first on the list of places to visit.

Calypso Bar in the middle of sidari is the place to dance the night away if you like loud music.
Snacks are available and films are shown during the day.
