Stress has many causes, some are work related and others
are part of life. According to experts moving house, the run up to christmas,
preparing for a wedding and the last moments before you go on holiday are
four of the major causes outside of work. Well, i certainly agree with
the last one, and i suppose anyone with kids has felt a little hot under
the collar waiting for the taxi or at the airport with the little people
asking "are we there yet; are we there yet, etc.
It probably goes something like this:-
Two days to go and just one bag to pack
the wife does it all 'cause i don't have the knack
"will you watch the kids and get up off your back"
says the wife, as she gives one a bloomin' big whack
I take the kids out, to cut her some slack
down to macdonalds to get a big mac
it's best to be out, 'cause you don't get no flak
us blokes can be selfish, it's "i'm alright Jack"
Just one day to go, so it's early to bed
the kids go up first, once thier watered and fed
"hey mum, i can't sleep", the youngest one said
then five minutes later you'd think she was dead
I go up at midnight, my eyelids like lead
can't remember the pillow hitting my head
At three in the morning, the time we all dread
they wake up expecting to be off to the med
The final few hours, at last, the big day
hurry up kids there's no time to play
"please let it go smoothly", i hear the wife pray
then the taxi arrives and we're off on our way
we stand in the queue for the check in and weigh
when all of a sudden my hair's turning grey
as over the tannoy i hear a voice say
"the next flight to corfu has an hour delay"
Twelve times on the plane it's, "hey dad ,is it far"
and you're stuffed in those seats like sardines in a
jar
in economy class, for the course, well, that's par
but they stopped all the smoking, and i need my tar
at last we are landing, hip hip hurrah!
from airport to hotel we travell by car
when we get there the wife wants, "a nice cup of char"
sod that for a lark, i'm off to the bar
