Now the club's logo.
The club was founded in 1967 by collectors from Camberley and Crowthorne. It meets at 7.30 p.m. in Camberley at St. Michael's Church Hall, London Road on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month (except for August and the 4th Tuesdays in July and December). We also meet on three Tuesday afternoons in winter for a general get together.
Meetings are devoted to displays from members or visiting speakers. We have an annual quiz and an annual members' competition.
Every year we host a Stamp Fair at Collingwood College, Camberley. The centrepiece of the Fair is the Three Counties Club Competition which is competed for by clubs and societies from Surrey, Berkshire and Hampshire. The other big attraction of the Fair is the attendance of 30 or so dealers from all over the South of England.
In April each year we hold a Public Stamp Auction in the Morgan Centre, Crowthorne. We send out 750 auction catalogues to collectors and have sold some exceptional lots. Our top price was £2150 for a Cyprus cover of World War I. However there is something for all collectors as the minimum lot value is only £3.
A popular feature is the thriving Club Packet. The packet consists of booklets containing priced material from a wide selection of countries. Buyers remove the stamps they want and sign the resulting empty space. Booklets are available for members to sell any stamps they no longer requir The packet is circulated by hand between the members so no postal charges are incurred.
New members are always welcome at any of our meetings but if you would like more information or details about our auction then please email, write, fax or ring for more details.
