I did an M.Eng which I followed with a D.Phil at the Department of Engineering Science at the University of Oxford. My College was Magdalen and I thoroughly recommend it to anybody who ever gets the chance to go.
My project,
Combined Membrane Microfiltration and Affinity Separation, was an extensive programme of experiments to determine
the fluid dynamics of a new design of filter, along with some work to
characterise affinity separations with a model protein. The project had
applications in the medical field and the biotechnology industry.
