The Johnny Mathis Bread Dark Blues were formed as an amalgamation of the Two Dundee Supporters Club's, the Bread Dark Blues and the Johnny Mathis Optomists.
For the innagural Bread Dark Blues outing to Ayr United in January 1998, 12 boys left sober and returned unconsious, including the driver Iain Hardie.
April 4th 1998 saw the birth of the Paul Sullivan influenced - Johnny Mathis Optomists, with 15 members.
Following the merger the JMB Dark Blues are the second largest Dundee Supporters Club.
The JMB Dark Blues FC are also no mean players in there own right, recently defeating the Legendary Bobby Cox DSC 6-2 in a challenge match at Dens Park.
The scorers being Steven (Seb) Adam 3, Brian Reid 2 and Kevin McConville with a penalty. The match was notable for it being Paul Sullivans swansong from top class football, the former flying (now 15 stone) winger has retired to become a family man i.e give up sunday football so his wife lets him go to Dundee matches on a saturday.
The prancing dancing Neil Simpson excelled in two minute bursts culminating in a back heel which still forms the basis of his chat up technique.
Grant Hill also put in a performance with Vince Mennie-esque technique,Tommy Coyne-esque Acceleration and Duncan Campbell-esque crossing ability.
The Club secretary is now on a strict fitness regime, i.e. he has stopped drinking 80 shilling and reduced to 70 shilling.
