Each year in Spring the branch runs a 2 day course as an introduction to beekeeping. The 2006 course was on 1st & 2nd April at Rufford Old Hall, Nr Ormskirk Lancs

 

This short course follows the BBKA ‘Introduction to Beekeeping’ Course  The course objectives are to allow people to

· Be able to understand and recognise the basic parts of a hive

· Understand the life cycle of a honey bee

· Understand what is involved in keeping bees

· Be able to make an informed decision as to whether beekeeping is for them.

Course members have then been able to extend their knowledge by attending a series of practical sessions. The course fee for  2007 will be £30.00 to include membership of the BBKA.
