Sister
Ray, Berwick St, W1
Sister Ray is
a great little shop in Soho mainly because it is consistently the cheapest
for new releases in London. Take the recent Tindersticks album - the gatefold
vinyl version was upwards of £12 everywhere else, but here they sold
initial quantities at £8.99. Singles too are often cheaper. 12"
releases that are £3.99 in HMV are often £2.99 here.
The store is indie-focused,
but also stocks a lot of techno and has a bizare heavy-metal section. Second
hand rarities and back catalogue items are also stocked, which all goes to
show that you can cram an awful lot of good stuff into a little tiny store.
Who shops here?
