The title "Fields of Gold" comes from the name of the dog which opens the film, our own," Souliena Fields of Gold" who is the daughter of "Amirene Temptation," and "SH.CH Wyebank Destiny"
The dog which opens the field trial section is "F.T.CH Tillwood Theseus of Holywear "
The litter of puppies featured were born to "Stanroph simply heaven of Souliena"
The dogs on the beach belong to Anne Woodcock and include, "CH.Stanroph soldier boy", " Stanroph school boy" and others.
Alan Shearer's bitch "Candy" died of cancer soon after the filming of the two of them on the beach. She is sadly missed. Alan spoke of his admiration of the breed, and he was a little upset when a recent publication pictured Alan and Candy at home, and the caption read " Alan relaxing with his Golden Labrador Candy"...." Not my fault" he told me.
The end sequence includes, "SH.CH.Stanroph soldier boy", "Souliena Fields of Gold" "Pamgavin maritime sequel at Souliena" "F.T.CH. Tillwood theseus of holywear" and "Amirene temptation", among others.
The film is dedicated to "Amirene Integrity". When my wife Susan and I were looking for a family pet we were not sure which breed would suit our needs best, until the day we were introduced to "Inga". I will never forget this dark gold bitch emerging from her kennel, smiling like I had never seen from a dog before, her whole body wiggling along with her tail, it was as if we were her long lost family. From that day on the Golden Retriever was the only breed for us.
