Bracknell Folk Club
Bracknell folk club has been running for over 30 years and for much of that time we have been based at South Hill |Park Arts Centre, Bracknell.
The club has a singaround format and we usually meet in the Watts room. This room is warm and light and has good acoustics.
However the Cellar Bar here is our favourite venue as it has brilliant acoustics for singing and a great atmosphere. It has been the setting for
memorable evenings with various guests. At one event both the Coppers and the Wilson families were joined together in song.
Recently we are again hosting the occasional guest night in the cellar so it may be a good idea to check our diary dates.
On singaround nights there are about a dozen regulars who turn up most evenings and other occasional visitors who turn up from time to time.
We are very informal and sing anything from traditional to blues to pop and play anything from Irish jigs to a classical air.
We have some fine musicians who play a range of instruments including guitar, fiddle, melodeon, concertina, mandolin, whistle and
hammered dulcimer. However we also encourage beginners, those trying out a new instrument and those who have been beginners for
twenty years or more!
We meet on the 1st 3rd and 5th Wednesday of each month but close for the summer months of July and August.
All are welcome. If you don’t sing or play an instrument, we are always happy to hear a good joke or story or feel free to join in the discussions.
We cover everything from politics to toilet paper but mainly we sing and play.
