Music Software

This is easy... I have only a small number of pieces of music software, from amongst the scores I've downloaded and tried over the last ten years or so, that I actually use regularly and like.

Making Waves

This has evolved over the years but above all has remained the most intuitive and user-friendly means of working with samples that I have ever come across.

Orion

Yep, when it was a toss-up between this and Reason, I went for Orion, It was much cheaper and is a classy bit of software. It works totally as an all-in-one studio and workstation and again, with my pattern-based preference, I find it easy and intuitive to work with. With the multitude of VST instruments and effects available you really shouldn't need anything else to make your music.

Tuareg

Well I was there when Version 1 was released but have to admit that I haven't really used Version 2. My song 'Find The Way' was created entirely with Tuareg Version 1. Bram Bos, the developer should be encouraged as much as is possible. He has made wonderful software, including the utterly brilliant Hammerhead drum machine, that has made making computer music the great fun that it has been for the last decade
.

So... as I was putting this page together I have discovered another new piece of software from Bram. I haven't tried it yet but it's bound to be fab! So here is TunaFish...
