I live in Ayr, in Scotland, and my main hobby, as far as kites go, is making foils. These are completely soft kites, made in the shape of a aerofoil wing, and their primary purpose is to provide traction. They are also amazingly beautiful kites. I would make them purely for this reason, but in addition, they are enormous fun to fly, design and build.
