CAROLYN'S 40TH BIRTHDAY

The summer of 2002 saw Carolyn's 40th Birthday bash. It was no ordinary bash... it was a moving party!

Yes the party literally moved.... in a coach!

It was also the reason why this year there is no Stanley Arms ale trail page on Jules's Bits.  That was held on the same day and try as I can and do (friends will agree that I am trying!), I still haven't perfected the art of doing two different things at the same time in different places.

The day dawned warm but there was a definite stormy feel to the day and as proved later the weather would provide us with a spectacle rarely seen.

Nick puts

Nick puts on a smile for the camera at the eight...or is it six.. no five  chids at Bellingly or is that bell at chis..... oh whatever it's called it's in Chiddingly and the ale was good and there was a load of bells in the name of the pub!

The Girls get nattering (Birthday girl has a surprised look on her face!)

The Birthday Girl addresses the gathering Throng!

Then it's off to the Green at Ringmer for some games ranging from Cricket to Frisbee with a smidgin of full contact dominoes and pro celebrity thigh slapping!!.....

Whilst we were doing this, the clouds gathered over the south downs (Thunder had been rumbling all around for most of the day) and we were treated to something not often seen in England..... a tornado funnel cloud which I caught....... not literally of course..... with my camera.

The excitement over it was off to the Green Man for more drink to quench the thirst of all that running about.  The spud guns purchased at Ringmer then saw service and it was all out war!!

Kay brings back a fine pair.... of pints!

Then Paul & Portia decide that a bit of unsolicited horizontal movement is required to liven up the afternoon!

Then it was time for our next venue.. The Juggs Arms at Kingston Near Lewes.. Judging by Trevor's face he had just bought a round or was about to!!

The Birthday Girl thoroughly satisfied with her day out gratefully accepts an offer of her photograph being taken

The smile says it all!

We enjoyed it very much Carolyn.... Thank you for a brilliant day.
