Introduction
The purpose of this web page is to introduce you to "my likkle world", which consists mainly of doing sports such as surfing, windsurfing and kiting in and around West Wales.
First, some background. I've lived in, or just outside of, Aberystwyth for 6 years after coming here to study geology at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth. At present, I'm researching the geology of the Isle of Portland in preparation for writing a PhD and live about 5 miles from Aberystwyth in a lovely converted farmhouse with my girlfriend Anna, and friends Adam and Dave.
The university isn't the only reason I came to Aberystwyth however... The area is outstanding, and there are plenty of things (other than work) to keep me occupied. If we ignore the 'Work' section of this web site and concentrate (as we'd all like to do) on the 'Play' section, then it is split into several sections:
- Play. Which describes and provides information on some of my favourite pastimes
- Places: Which describes the places in West Wales in which to indulge in these pastimes. Along with descriptions and information on some of my favourite places elsewhere.
- Toys: Which runs through a list of my toys, provides information on setting some of these up, and will soon include information on the array of equipment available for the new sport of kite-surfing.
- People. A profile of some of my friends.
Each of these sections include some photos and in many cases a link to a small but growing photo gallery. I will soon include important links and other information related to each topic. The various topics should be cross-referenced. Therefore, following a description of each sport there should be a list of places around Aberystwyth ideal for indulging in that particular activity. Alternatively browse a description of the place and follow links to the activities possible at that place.
The 'Play' section of this site is aimed at people visiting the area (and a few other areas that I particularly like), or people interested in the various activities in which I indulge... Hopefully there is something of interest to most.
