An imposing and much photographed medieval castle. It was built by the MacDougalls, Lords of Lorne in the 13th century, currently being restored.
Dunollie Castle, Oban
Dunollie Castle is a contemporary of Dunstaffnage, and was a stronghold of the Scots kings in their efforts to contain the restless clans of the area. The ivy-clad structure sits on a rocky promontory above Oban bay
