IPL in Mons 6th/7th
March 2004
The Irish Premier League travelled to the World's biggest
tournament in Mons, Belgium. They were narrowly defeated
by Charleroi 'B' but were no match for Peruggia, who had
World Champion, Massimiliano Nastasi, in their ranks.
Nomadic Celts
The Nomadic
Celts will soon be holding a home and away league,
consisting of players from Dublin & surrounding areas
who will travel by arrangement to the house of the home
player at a time and date that is suited to both players.
The league will run over 3-4 months with the player at
the top gaining 200 National ranking points towards entry
to the UK & Ireland Internationals. It is hoped that more players who do not
have the time to travel to club nights can avail of this
league and thus improve their standard of play. If players are interested the only
requirement is that they have the space, players can also
share a home ground with another player if space is a
problem. Returnable equipment is available, free of
charge, with plenty of notice for all fixtures. For more information please email
or phone Gary Moore on 085 7134119. If you would like to set up
your own home and away league then drop Gary a line, as
he can help you to set it up.
New Players
Currently the TFAI is looking to start up new leagues and
expand on the National League for next season. With the
UK and Ireland Internationals coming up, the World Cup in
Bologna, the GP/IO of Dublin in July and not to mention a
strong contingent of players travelling to foreign
tournaments things are going pretty good at the
moment. However, we
are looking for new players all the time. Especially
players who were involved in the former RISA or who
collect Subbuteo and are looking to further their
ambitions. Players and collecters alike from
anywhere in Ireland of all ages and abilities are urged
to call either Gary Moore (0857134119) or email John Moore for more information on coming events and
organisation of games with players in your area.

Our sport has reached
a new high this weekend as the Maltese Table soccer team

were they hosts of the 2003 World Cup but they also
produced the winning (and thus nominated) Under-19 team.
In what is a massive coup for the future of our game, it
is vital that we take this kind of profile and use it to
our advantage. It is about time that the sports world
knew that they have something big on their doorstep, just
knocking and waiting to come in.
