Belfast International Grand Prix 13th/14th May 2006

John Moore was the only Republic of Ireland player at the Belfast GP in W5 Discovery Centre. He lost his first match 2-6 against No.2 seed, Joe Mifsud of Malta but beat Northern Ireland's Andrew Morrison 2-0 to progress to the Last 16, where he was eliminated by Nathan Dupont of Belgium. The event was won by Belgian David Fraikin, who beat Massimo Cremona on sudden-death shots after a 1-1 draw in the final. Full Results

John also played for the Irish Premier League in the team event, along with his Northern team-mates. Hennuyer beat English Premier League in the final, with Lega-Liga Odense finishing 3rd and IPL 4th. Team Results

Gary Runner-up in Dunmurry 18th March 2006


Gary defends in Dunmurry Open Final
Gary, John & Nicky Moore travelled north for the second time in three weeks, this time for the Dunmurry Open. As in North Down, Gary reached the final, only to lose again to Kenny Beggs, this time by a 0-1 scoreline. John was beaten by Gary in the Open Semi-Final and Nicky lost to Davy Clegg in the Veteran Semi. Full Results

The Republic of Ireland players who travelled north to Bangor enjoyed some success but just missed out on the winners prize in both the Open and the Veterans. Gary Moore narrowly lost on sudden-death shots to Northerner, Kenny Beggs, after a 1-1 draw, while Nicky Moore lost 2-0 to the same opponent in the Veteran Final. John Wins Cup, Gary Runner-up in League
Last season's 4th IPL Club Meeting finally took place in Tallaght, Dublin. Northern Ireland's Kenny Beggs won the league, with Kildare man, Gary Moore finishing 2nd and Dubliner, John Moore, 3rd. John won the end-of-season Cup, beating Davy Clegg on shots in the final.

Veterans: Nicky Moore v Hasieber (Austria)

Danielle Murtagh finished 3rd in the Females & reached the Junior Semi-Finals at theManchester Grand Prix to pick up her first overseas trophy.

In the Open, John Moore lost 1-4 to Chris Thomas but drew 2-2 with Rob O'Hare to get through his group, before losing in the Last 32 to Angel Valverde of Spain. Gary Moore drew 2-2 with Jeremy Bradley and lost 0-3 to Dave Pawsey - not enough to qualify, although he finished runner-up in the Plate. Nicky Moore played in the Veterans, which was won by Phil Redman. Verhagen beat Cremona 2-0 in the Open Final.

Irish Premier League reached the Team Quarter-Finals. They lost 1-3 to Hennuyer of Belgium but beat North West (Wales) 3-0 to get through the group. They then eliminated FISTF President, Vincent Coppenolle's club, Templeuve United of Belgium, 2-1 in the Barrage Round before going out to Spanish side, Murcia. Hennuyer beat Murcia in the Final.

Dumfries Team GP & Individual IO Nov 19th/20th 2005


Plate Final: John Moore (right) beat Steve Hawkins in a shoot-out after 0-0 draw
Three Republic of Ireland players travelled to Dumfries. Gary Moore reached the Quarter-Final of the Open, losing 0-1 to eventual winner, Bob Varney. John Moore won the Plate with a shoot-out victory against Steve Hawkins, following a scoreless Final. Nicky Moore lost his Veteran matches to Iain Bell & Richard Pepper.

In the team event, Irish Premier League finished last in a round-robin group of six, their only win being against Yorkshire Phoenix. Full Results

Gary Goes 3rd in IPL 8th Nov 2005
Gary Moore beat Andy Fitzpatrick & Nicky Moore to go 3rd in the table, just behind John Moore, who beat Nicky to remain in 2nd place. Andy & Nicky picked up a point each in their 3-3 draw.

Bangor Open Nov 5th 2005

John, Gary & Nicky Moore went North for the Bangor Open. Defending Champion, Gary, was beaten in a shootout by Davy Clegg in the Barrage Round, after a 4-4 draw. John reached the Quarter-Finals before losing 1-0 to Barry Spence. In the Veterans, Nicky lost 2-0 at the Semi-Final stage to eventual winner, Davy Clegg.

They entered the Team event as Nomadic Celts and finished runner-up to Belfast Barbarians.

Setback For Gary as John Goes 2nd in IPL Nov 1st 2005
John Moore beat Gary 2-1 & Nicky 3-0 to gain 6 points and move into 2nd place. Gary beat Nicky 4-0 but his defeat to John is a big setback in the title race, since he needs to keep winning his matches and hope that leader, Kenny Beggs, slips up.
