| HISTORY |
| The former governing body
was the Republic of Ireland Subbuteo Association
(RISA) headed by Martin Taylor. When the sport
was at its peak in the early 1990s, Dublin was a
highly respected International Open venue which
attracted the World's top players. From
1994-2002 the Irish Subbuteo scene declined but
it was given a much needed boost at the 2002 World
Cup in Birmingham, which led to the
formation of the new governing body, TFAI, and
the beginning of a new era.
