be a Shaman is to be a Holy Man. The word 'Shaman' has been
traced back to the Tungus people of Siberia, it apparently finding
its roots there many thousands of years ago. The name of 'Shaman'
is also known to have links, however tenuous, with the Sanskrit
word 'Samana' which is Indian for 'monk'.
