Filling in the Gaps
Patients embarking on the life-changing journey from one gender to another are most likely to arrive
at the offices of either an expert Psychiatrist or a fully fledged Gender Identity Clinic (GIC). The
reality is that patients do not change their sex- a phrase coined by the media and television programme
makers. It is not an easy path and can prove more complicated for men who desire to be living full
time in the female role than natural born women who desire to live as men.
For anyone embarking on changing their gender, most leading psychiatrists and surgeons require
that the patient live in the role of their aspired gender for at least 2 years. This is known as
RLT or the 'Real Life Test'. this is where the patient is expected to live in their desired role
24 hours a day, seven days a week e.g. 24,7. The transitional period is often extremely turbulent
and difficult, more specifically for men moving to womanhood than women moving toward
manhood. La-zarus is there to fill in the missing pieces and to enable each student to learn some
basics regarding life in the female role.
The are two ways to benefit from our expertise 1) by attending one of the Gender Works feminine Academy
sessions see the Gender Works Academy page or 2) attend a one to one session at the London Institute in
Earls Court by emailing la-zarus@lineone.net or Telephone 020 7207 8473
The Gender Works Academy is an open group session for both transvestites and transsexuals, offering basic
skills in feminine deportment. A fun day for all - it is not a dressing service but a real chance to brush up on those
all important fem lessons.
The one to one sessions are specifically for early stage male to female transsexuals who need to adjust behaviour's
to fit their aspired female role. The sessions build into a portfolio of skills that embed into each clients already
existing repertoire of mental skills. These sessions are by appointment only and new clients are expected to send a
non-returnable deposit to secure their place.
