    Research

Eileen has carried out research and mapping exercises on behalf of a number of organisations either to establish the views of staff, clients and customers before developing new strategy, policy or services or as part of an internal organisational review and/or evaluation. A variety of methods are used as appropriate including desk research; focus groups; public meetings; telephone interviews; email or postal questionnaires; and structured or semi-structured face-to-face interviews.

    Review

Reviews have been conducted for a variety of voluntary organisations and multi-agency partnerships. They have variously helped establish and make recommendations for future directions; organisational priorities; whether there is a need for a new or existing service; whether the structure and governance of an organisation or partnership is appropriate. Other reviews have been undertaken to identify difficulties with particular services and make recommendations for action to be taken.

    Evaluation

Many clients require reviews to incorporate an element of evaluation although more often than not reviews help establish baselines for future evaluations. This consultancy service enables organisations to demonstrate, whether to funders or themselves, to what extent a programme or project has achieved its outcomes as well as helping set baselines from which to evaluate future work.

    Fees charged

Fees are negotiable on a sliding scale from £250 - £350 per day, with special rates for small, unfunded charities and community groups. In addition to the fee, travel costs are charged (e.g. 2nd class rail fare or 40p per mile) and overnight costs where necessary.
