About the Artist

LiamSpencer was born in Burnley in 1964. He studied for a degree in Fine Art at Manchester Polytechnic, and graduated in 1986.
He is best known for his vivid portrayals of the urban landsape, particularly of the north west of England.
In 2000, Liam was invited to stage the first solo exhibition of contemporary art, at the new Lowry centre in Salford, UK.

“What makes looking at Liam Spencer’s paintings today so refreshing is that they very simply and confidently belong to that rarest of all traditions - the tradition of good painting.”
