LINFIELD INTERNET SUPPORTERS CLUB

Mission Statement

The Linfield Internet Supporters Club was formed by a group of 8 Linfield Supporters at meeting at Hunters Bar in April 2002. Officers were elected and Tony Gorman and Chris Morgan were appointed as President and Vice-President of the club. Although there was an initial groundswell of interest, for various reasons work on the club has tailed off over the following year.

On Tuesday 19th August 2003 a meeting was held at the Hilton Hotel, Templepatrick, in an effort to revitalise the organisation. Several important decisions were made.

The purpose of the club is to allow the many and diverse groups of Bluemen on the internet to come together, both for our own benefit and that of Linfield Football Club. Initially we plan to arrange several social events, both online and in reality, to allow everyone to "meet" each other and to develop feedback and ideas as to how we can best move the club forward. For the present time we plan to meet on the third Monday of each month in the Templepatrick Hilton and on the first Sunday of each month in an online chatroom, further details to be arranged. Thereafter several social events are contemplated, including a Linfield Supporters' 5-a-side tournament in November of this year, bi-annual dinners in January and September, and a Poker Night at Windsor Park.

We plan to advertise the club online, on the official and unofficial Linfield sites and the Irish League Forums, and also in the club programme. An online membership form will be made available for all prospective new members. An initial membership fee of £10 is payable (by cheque and made out to Linfield Internet Supporters Club). Further details of how to pay will be seen on the membership form. The monies raised will be put towards organising club events at the outset, whilst other projects envisaged include the purchase of a club flag for the display at matches and also a club badge. Our long term view is to help Linfield Football Club raise much needed funds at this crucial time in our history.
