21-22 seven trophy winning side
In season 1921-22, Linfield picked up the Alhambra Cup, Irish League, Irish Cup, City Cup, Gold Cup, Country Antrim Shield and Charity Cup - a feat few people believed would ever be repeated. A record of that season is as follows:
Irish League: Linfield champions with 17 points
Irish Cup: Linfield 2 Glenavon 1
Alhambra Cup: Linfield 1 Cliftonville 0
Gold Cup: Linfield champions with 18 points
City Cup: Linfield champions with 18 points
Co. Antrim Shield: Linfield 4 Distillery 1
Charity Cup: Linfield 1 Cliftonville 0

61-62 seven trophy winning side
Forty years later and the unimaginable happened again as Linfield once more hit the seven trophy jackpot. This time there were 12 teams, not only 6 competing in the championship, and the trophies won that year were; Irish League, Irish Cup, Gold Cup, City Cup, Country Antrim Shield, Ulster Cup and North-South Cup. Isaac McDowell, a Scot who had contributed so much to Irish League football, was the coach of the successful side.
The season lasted a mammoth 63 games over a 40 week period, and the success was made all the more remarkable by the fact the Linfield squad were probably affected more so than any other team in the league by injury. In fact, in the 11 City Cup games, Linfield were unable to field the same line-up more than once.
Captain of the side Tommy Dickson, in his 13th year with the club called them "The team of the century, an all local combination. All you needed to do was put a blue shirt on them, and they played their hearts out".
The season finished in dramatic style with a play-off for the seventh and final trophy - the League Championship, after both Linfield and Portadown finished level on points (Linfield had the better goal difference). The game took place at Solitude in front of a crowd of over 15,000, and Linfield won the game 3-1. For the record the trophies were won as follows:
Irish League: Linfield 3 Portadown 1 (play-off)
Irish Cup: Linfield 4 Portadown 0
Ulster Cup: Linfield 2 Glentoran 0
Gold Cup: Linfield 4 Glentoran 0
City Cup: Linfield champions with 20 points
Co. Antrim Shield: Linfield 5 Glentoran 0
North-South Cup: Linfield 7 Glentoran 1
