We are a husband-and-wife business running English language courses for one or two students at a time. Both of us are university graduates with 70 years' combined experience teaching to all ability levels in Scottish Secondary schools.

(FACT: many tutors employed by large agencies have NO language or teaching qualifications)

Students live with the family in Orwell House in LEVEN (Fife Region) a small, busy town on the River Forth estuary (see Map page), an ideal centre for visiting the cities of Edinburgh, Glasgow, Perth, Dundee and Stirling. Loch Lomond is about two hours' run by car, as are the Scottish Highlands north of Perth, and the picturesque fishing villages of the Fife coast are minutes away from Orwell. The house is two minutes from the beach, and there are three golf courses five minutes away. Visits to Edinburgh, Glasgow or a scenic trip are included in the fee, as are frequent trips around Fife.

Fees also include transport from and return to Edinburgh International Airport, all meals, and all materials.

We aim to make students feel happy and at home, and in addition to working with you on your English we hope to show you and tell you as much about Scotland as time allows.

FACILITIES at Linguafife:

Two bedrooms, a double and a single, are available to students. A large, book-lined study, and the enclosed garden, are free for you to use for study or relaxation. Tape and video recorders, language and reference books are available, and students may use Internet, fax or e-mail facilities at cost.

Recent improvements include a private shower room/toilet for guests, a totally new kitchen, a light and pleasant "garden room" for study/relaxation, and a recent upper extension to the garden.
