Gatso's on the way to, and around N and Mid Wales. Please e-mail details of any other known locations
that could be added to this page. However, fast bikes +
pedestrians = Dead people. Keep it down through villages and
get home in one piece!
Shropshire
A5 Shrewsbury Bypass - Watch out for a burgundy Vauxhall Omega, it's an unmarked traffic car.
A5 Nesscliffe, 30 mph - Mobile camera sites in village in both directions
A5 Shotatton, 40 mph -Mobile camera sites at crossroads between Nesscliffe & Oswestry in both directions.
A5 Queens Head junction, 60 mph - Mobile camera site between Nesscliffe & Oswestry, N bound.
A5 Aston Gate junction, 60 mph - Mobile camera site before Mile End roundabout.
A458 Ford, 40 mph - Mobile camera sites both ways, west of village between Shrewsbury and Welshpool.
Cheshire
A540 Wirral, 40 mph - Well policed road with unmarked cars and Honda Deauville bike, plus various laser traps.
North Wales
A55 Eastbound,30 mph - Gatso just prior to the Penmaen Bach tunnel, where two lanes go into one and the 30 limit starts. This went live on 26 July 02!!
Dundonald Avenue, Abergele, 30 mph (Between Pensarn and Abergele) - A favourite location for police, hiding car in a small cul-de-sac "Penrhos".
A5 Pentrefoelas, nr. Betws y coed, 40 mph - Favourite site for speedtrap on a Saturday and Sunday at crossroads in village.
A5 Ty-Nant, 60 mph - Laser trap operated by two officers. This is the long straight downhill between Cerrigydrudion and Corwen approached eastbound through a large cutting in hillside.
A4212 Bala, 30 mph - Trap just out of Bala centre heading for Trawsfynydd behind wall at minor junction.
A496 Bont Ddu, 30 mph - In village on the way to Barmouth on right hand side. No chance to spot it beforehand!
A5104 Pontybodkin, 30 mph - Speed camera N bound.
A55 Bangor Junction, 70 mph - Vascar markings, then straight into a portable laser trap, with stop car in layby further on.
Old A55 - Unmarked white transit patrolling the North Wales coast. High top, smoked windows at side and hatch at back. Very sneaky!
A55 Conwy to Penmaenmawr, 70 mph - Laser camera used at eastbound tunnel, hidden by a blind bend, plus various unmarked cars.
A548 Greenfield, 30 mph - Hidden camera behind a bridge, one a bit further on in a 40.
A550 Queensferry to Harwarden road - Gatso as you enter 30 limit by Daleside garden centre.
Sychdyn, Nr. Mold - Gatso as you enter the village.
Mid Wales
A470 Llanidloes, 60 mph - Two Gatso's on the Llanidloes by-pass, one in each direction.
A44 between Crossgates and Rhayader - Trap round the corner of the downhill straight from Rhayader.
A489 Churchstoke, 30 mph - Regular laser trap opposite Harry Tuffins supermarket. Easy to miss, as the coppers stand in the driveway of a house.
