Snoopy & Cleo
Dogs! -I am not fit to be let out anywhere as I went
to the vets with Bramble on 18th June to assess his medication
and came home with a pile of pills and an extra dog. It must
have been "Take One, Get One Free Week" as while in
the waiting room, a senior citizen (probably younger than I am)
came in with a box housing a beautiful male dog, a Bolognese
.On enquiry we found that Newquay had been brought in to be "euthanized".
His owners could no longer look after him and when they had tried
to re-home him a few days earlier Newquay had snapped at (and
bitten the face of ) the lady who had been hoping to adopt him.
On closer inspection, the dangerous
beast turned out to be a handsome fellow of six or seven but
in good health. We just could not let that happen and so brought
him home despite a warning that He has shown no sign of any unreliability
in his two months here and he is turning out to be a loving character
who thoroughly enjoys his mad romps with Cleo, Shirley's five
month old Bichon pup. What a delight Cleo is, if a bit of a strumpet,
a typical Swansea girl.
Bramble was not at all put out by
the new boy whose name has now morphed from Newquay to Lucky,
to Nooky, then Snooky and finally Snoopy which he seems to like.
It seems that he was just lacking in confidence and socialisation
with other dogs. On his first visit to meet his lady groomer,
we left him with some trepidation but after two hours of trimming,
combing and bathing, she confirmed our opinion that Snoopy does
not have a dark side. |
