Comparing DVD editions.

This shot of the staircase in torchlight highlight how much more detail is revealed in the Region 1 version.

The full screen VHS of the hybrid version of the movie reveals more of the top and bottom of the image 

The image to the left is from the director's preferred edition and has been further regraded. I believe the look is intended to simulate the low resolution of 16mm film.
