In between 'A' Levels and Uni' I wrote a short story called Soul Triangle. I had thought it would be worthy of 'novel' size until I did an average word count of a small book and found out I fell short by about 40,000 words.
It was/is one part of a trilogy that will eventually be shoved all together in one book form.
When I get around to it.
My Uni' course was a theory degree which taught me a load of big words and new ways of thinking, but more importantly, it taught me how to write a lot about not much.
That's probably not a good advertisment but I'm sure you understand what I mean.
I also wrote three Uni' Pantomimes and a couple of Revues.
And, of course, I wrote Blood Lust.
After graduating I moved to London and tried my hand at the stand-up comedy circuit and soon realise that I much preferred the writing of comedy than performing it in the basement of seedy East London pubs.
I was sending Blood Lust off to various literary agencies and publishers to find that I couldn't even get an appraisal to see if it was actually any good.
Most places have a limited budget dedicated to take a few new authors each year but get submissions from hundreds each week. They just re-packaged and posted back.
Then early 2001 I wrote to Pegasus and they said they were interested. Blood Lust was published in 2002 but then un-published in 2004.
In the meantime I participate in Nanowrimo each year

Aftermath was finished in 2004, Revelations finished in 2006 and I'm currently on the verge of completing L'Hunch Est Dos.
