Champions League 1/4 Final 2nd Leg
Arsenal 1-2 Chelsea (3-2 Chelsea) Arsenal went crashing out of their second cup competition in a week after Chelsea stunned the champions elect at Highbury. It took the Gunners 45 minutes to get the first goal with a toe ended shot from Reyes going underneath Ambrosio and into the net. Ranieri's side thought back though in the second half and deserved to win the match. A rare strike from Makelele forced Lehmann into a save which Lampard pounced onto to tap into the net. As Chelsea went forward they got their deserved winner, a neat one two between Bridge and Gudjohnsen set up the Englishman who sidefooted the ball past Lehmann with only minutes left. Reyes 45
Lampard 51
Bridge 87
Monaco 3-1 Real Madrid (5-5 Monaco go through on away goals) Monaco did the seemingly impossible by beating Real Madrid after going 5-2 down on aggerate. Raul looked to have made the tie safe but a goal from Guily on the stroke of half time and a header from former Real star Morientes put the home side in the driving seat, and midway through the second half captain Guily popped up with a cheeky flick to knock out the 9 times winners. Raul 35
Guily 45
Morientes 49
