Arsenal 0-1 Man.Utd
(Villa Park)

Manchester United broke Arsenal's hope of a treble after beating their rivals 1-0 at Villa Park in the first of two FA cup semi finals this weekend. Arsenal dominated the opening stages with Bergkamp testing Carroll, Edu striking the bar and Pires heading over when unmarked inside the united box. United had the cutting edge though and with their first real chance Giggs layed the ball back for Scholes who powered the ball into the net. The second half brought strong United resistance with the Gunners throwing on Henry, Reyes and Kanu. With United's tough defending Arsenal where left with few chances mainly outside of the area that were ballooned over the top of the bar. Mancheter United did have one more chance to seal the victory late on with Bellion almost getting on the end of a Giggs delivery, but one was enough for United who break Arsenal's record of succesive finals from 2001.
