Levski Sofia 2-4 Liverpool

A fully entertaining game in Sofia saw Liverpool reach the last 16 with relative ease. The reds burst into a 2-0 lead with Owen and Gerrard scoring good goals inside 11 minutes. Sofia fought back though with a goal from Ivanov after a mistake by Finnan and pulled level with a curler from the edge of the area from Simonovic. Liverpool got back into the lead though just before half time when Didi Hamann scored a close range header to put the score 3-2 at the break.
In a slightly less exciting half Liverpool picked up the only goal with a suberb Sami Hyypia header on 69 minutes to wrap the match up. Liverpool go through on aggerate 6-2 after a 2-0 win at Anfield.
