Basically on this page, I'm going to tell you a few things about the production of this website so anyone wanting to learn anything about making a page of their own will hopefully be able to pick up a few tips from here but first of all, the stats.
| Number of Files Used | 245 |
| File Size of Site | 8.22MB |
| Date of First Publication | February 10th 1998 |
| Website Garage Rating | Fair (Ratings from 'poor' to 'excellent'. It was poor originally and changed to fair which took me bloody ages) |
| Hours Spent Creating Site | I'm glad I don't know this. It would scare me |
Can anyone think of any other stats that should be on here? Please e-mail me
or leave a note in my guestbook
Actually, when I first tried to make a webpage, I never thought I'd get as far as uploading it onto the web. Before hand, when I tried creating a page someone sent me some code to help me and it totally confused me and I thought 'I can't do this' but here I am with this page so I'm quite happy with myself.
On the same day I first published this page, my Dad (Norm) bought me a book called 'Learn HTML in 24 Hours' and after looking at other HTML books, I have to say that I think this one is the best. I read the first four or five chapters and then skipped ahead to sections about adding pictures and music and an hour later, I was uploading my site to the net (after quite a bit of help from Boodle and Rash, both friends of mine from my ISP).
After that, I just kept adding sections to the page and eventually got a book about programming JavaScript which is a lot harder than HTML (Still not got to grips properly with it yet). With this I was able to add the buttons on the main page that light up when you move the mouse over them.
To make one of these buttons, you have to get two pictures, one darker than the other and then add the command to update the image to the lighter one when the mouse moves over it. If you want to add this effect to your page then e-mail me or leave a message in the guestbook below and I'll send you an example of the code. In fact, if you see anything on this page you want to know more about, just drop me a line and I'll help in any way I can. Nice eh?
